Checking for Newer Builds Message is Taking Several Minutes to Run on Terminal Server

Issue

The ‘Checking for Newer builds’ process is taking several minutes to run each time a user logs into Dynamics GP on a Terminal Server.

Cause

There is likely a service stuck that is affecting the ‘Checking for Newer builds’ runtime.

Resolution

  1. Save all current work in Dynamics GP.
  2. Log off the Terminal Server.
  3. Restart the Terminal Server connection.
  4. Launch Dynamics GP again.
