After launching Dynamics GP 8.0 or newer versions, you notice that SmartFill randomly stops working.
Microsoft has added a lot of initialization processes to Dynamics GP 8.0 when compared to previous versions. When you start Dynamics GP, even when the product screen shows up and allows you to interact with the software, it is not fully initialized.
1. If you immediately open a window and SmartFill fails to work in that window, simply close the window and reopen it.
2. Try moving SmartFill to the second position in your DYNAMICS.SET file to help with faster loading.
