System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path ‘C:\Rockton Software xxx’ is denied.

Error

When you open the System Settings window in Rockton Pricing Management, you receive the following message.

System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Rockton Software\Rockton Pricing Management\Rockton.Pricing.Management.UI.exe.config' 
is denied. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)

Cause

User does not have needed accessibility to the Rockton folder.

Resolution

Give access to the Rockton Software folder.

1. Open File Explorer.
2. Go to the location where Rockton Pricing is installed. Typically, this is C:\RocktonSoftware.
3. Right-click and choose Properties.
4. Click the Security
5. Select Users and click Edit.
6. In the Permissions window, mark Users and grant access to the folder.
7. Click Apply.
