As we mark our 25th anniversary at Rockton Software, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and pride. Since our inception in 1999, we’ve been on an incredible journey, transforming from a one-guy consultancy to a team that’s impacted over 5,000 companies and hundreds of thousands of business users worldwide.
The road hasn’t been easy. We’ve been through Y2K, the dot-com bubble burst, 9/11, the 2008 great financial crisis, and COVID. Our team has grown and shrunk over the years. Some years have been profitable, others not so much.
Yet we’ve persevered and made the best of it. And along the way have made some loyal fans and great friends. We’ve never had a credit card chargeback, and only had to make refunds twice. I think part of that has to do with an underlying philosophy of simply doing the right thing. We get comments like “their customer service is the best in the industry.”
I love the delight we see in the faces of customers when we demo our software at trade shows. My favorite story comes from a user whose SmartFill product was not installed after a major upgrade. It took a day for their VAR to get it re-installed, and until that time she claimed, “I felt like I lost my left arm!”
I think what I’ve learned most in this journey is that ultimately, it’s the people that matter. I don’t care what values or mantras any company has, it’s hard to have success without the simple philosophy of treating others well. We love our team, our partners, and our customers. And they love us back. Anyone for a round of Kumbaya?
As we celebrate this milestone, we’re not just looking back – we’re looking forward. The business landscape is constantly evolving, and so are we. While we continue to support our large Dynamics GP customer base, we’re excited about the future opportunities with Rockton Pricing Management as we continue innovating and serving our customers, one at a time, as each of them matter.
To our loyal customers, dedicated employees, and supportive partners – thank you. You’ve been instrumental in our journey, and we couldn’t have reached this milestone without you. Here’s to another 25 years of making work simpler and easier!
