Email (Outlook, CRM, SMTP) setup requirements

Dynamics Report Manager allows you to send reports via email (Batch Reports). Any emails that are sent, in this case, will be done so where Dynamics GP is being launched. 

1.  In DRM, you can you can choose Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Dynamics CRM or SMTP in the DRM | System Settings | Email tab. Other settings will be shown based on the Email Client that you choose here. 

     a.  If you select Microsoft Outlook for Email Client, then you must have Outlook installed and open on each workstation where DRM is to send emails.

          i.  If Dynamics GP is installed on your local workstation, then the MAPI Client needs to also be installed on your local computer. 
          ii.  If Dynamics GP is launched via a Terminal Server, then you need MAPI installed on the Terminal server.
          iii.  The same holds true if you install Dynamics GP on the database server and launch it from the database server. In that case, you would need to install MAPI on the database server.

     b.  If you select SMTP for your Email Client, then the username and password specified here must have permission to send email through the SMTP Server.

Outlook, for example, needs to be able to launch from the local workstation, Terminal Server, or database server.
