Here at Rockton we like to celebrate all things, big and small, that bring joy to our lives. We thought it would be fun to share our July celebrations with you and hopefully spread the joy around! Here are a few things the Rockton family celebrated this month.

I am celebrating International Cat Day
This is Ludwig (aka Luddy Bug) when he was about 6 weeks old. We got him from Lifeline, even though we had decided the night before that we were definitely looking for a 2-3 year-old kitty. But Ashlee heard this guy making all sorts of racket with his ball-in-a-ring toy, and when we went over to check him out, he actually reached out to us thru the bars of his cage. I took him out and he immediately put his tiny little arms around my neck in a full-fledged hug. We were sold.
Unfortunately, he started going a little downhill once we had him for a week or so (“Young Luddy upstairs” pic), even though he still had all of his kitten energy. Lifeline suggested that they take him back to treat him for a bit, and it turned out he had Calisivirus. So it was touch and go for at least a week. They said he wasn’t eating and was not super active. They didn’t want to even let us visit initially because they didn’t want to risk us bringing anything home to our other kitties. But we begged and got to see him. This is how he greeted us. 😃 And also, he ate ravenously! He was just waiting for us to come back and get him. ❤
