March 2025 Team Spirit

Mar 24, 2025

Did you know that Microsoft Teams has a 3D immersive space? On a recent team collaboration call, we explored sitting around a campfire and roasting marshmallows.

While on a call, selecting the “View” tab will populate a few options for meeting attendees. Selecting the “Immersive space (3D)” option allows you to create your own avatar and join your teammates in this new format. Our team enjoyed the opportunity to virtually sit around a campfire, but there are multiple options for teams to choose from.

There is a definite learning curve to using this technology: how to move, how to sit – all those things take a little time to learn. We all shared a big laugh, though, when one team member accidentally virtually sat on the other (“Is HR here?” we joked).

It’s certainly a new way to have some fun with your colleagues and break up the usual routine of recurring meetings. We had a great time and will absolutely be meeting each other around the campfire again in the future. Where will your team virtually connect for your next meeting? Let us know!
