RPM – What’s New in Business Central

RPM BC – Q1 2026

Change RPM Diagnostic Logging Level Directly from Price Diagnostics in the ERP

When viewing Price Diagnostics on a transaction in the ERP, you can now change the Diagnostic Logging Level directly from a new drop-down in the Price Diagnostics window. Any change made in the ERP is immediately synced back to RPM and updates the Diagnostic Logging Level on the RPM Settings page, making it faster to increase or reduce logging without leaving the transaction.

Price List Date Defaulting for Null Values

When syncing price lists from Business Central, records with no or a null Starting Date or Ending Date previously came across as 0001-01-01. The BC RPM Connector now defaults these to meaningful boundary dates — 1/1/1900 for Starting Date and 12/31/2099 for Ending Date — so price lists are usable without manual correction in RPM.

Support for Direct Unit Cost from Business Central Purchasing Price Lines

RPM for Business Central now supports pulling the Direct Unit Cost price from Purchasing Price Lines. This enhancement expands the available pricing data that can be brought into RPM, helping ensure purchasing-related pricing information is more accurately reflected and available for use within RPM.

RPM BC – December 2025 New Features and Enhancements

Price Preview

The RPM Business Central Connector now includes Price Preview, giving users a clear, side-by-side comparison of pricing results across applicable RPM Schedules directly within Business Central. This feature mirrors the powerful analysis tools available in RPM Test Scenarios, making it easier to validate pricing logic, review adjustments, and troubleshoot pricing behavior without switching systems. Price Preview is available in Sales Quotes, Sales Orders, Sales Invoices, Project Journals, and Project Planning Lines.

Generate Tests Directly from Diagnostic Logs

Users can now create Test Scenarios or Test Documents directly from a Diagnostic Log, allowing quick reproduction of the exact pricing conditions captured in the log. This provides a faster, more accurate way to diagnose and validate pricing behavior.

Web App URL Added to RPM Settings

The RPM Settings page in Business Central now includes a Web App URL field. This enhancement provides direct visibility into the RPM web application endpoint used by the environment, making configuration and troubleshooting easier for administrators. The Web App URL displays alongside the existing Web Service URL and Company GUID fields for a more complete connector setup view.

Computation Comment Field Added for Pricing Breakdown

A Comment field has been added to the Computations grid to display an overview of how each computation line was calculated, making pricing results easier to understand and troubleshoot.

Enforce Unique Resource and Item IDs Setting Added

A new Enable Resource and Item IDs are Unique setting has been added to RPM Settings for the Business Central connector. When enabled, RPM enforces uniqueness for Resource and Item IDs to prevent ambiguous pricing references and ensure more consistent pricing behavior.

Use Resources in Pricing Setting Added

A new Use Resources in Pricing option has been added to RPM Settings for the Business Central connector. When enabled, Resources are included in RPM pricing calculations and pricing is returned from RPM. When disabled, Resource pricing follows standard Business Central behavior.

Price Messages Added

The RPM BC Connector now includes Price Messages, displayed alongside Price Computations for each line after a pricing call. When informational messages, warnings, or errors occur, messages populate to provide additional context about pricing behavior and outcomes. Each message includes a Severity level (INFO, WARN, or ERR) and descriptive text, helping users quickly identify and understand potential pricing issues.

Name Changes to View Diagnostics and View Adjustments

To improve clarity, transaction grid actions have been renamed to better reflect RPM-generated data. View Diagnostics is now Price Diagnostics, and View Adjustments is now Price Computations, making it easier to understand where pricing details and calculations originate.

RPM BC – October 2025 New Features and Enhancements

New RPRM User Role

A new RPRM User permission set has been added in the BC Connector to provide more flexible role management. While the existing RPRM Admin permission set continues to give full access to all RPM and BC functions, the new RPRM User role is designed for day-to-day users.

With RPRM User, individuals can complete pricing transactions, process Data Syncs, and work with the RPM Trace Log. But will have view-only or no access to other admin areas.

View RPM Fields on Archived and Posted Sales Documents

The BC Connector has been enhanced to make RPM data more accessible across document history. RPM-specific fields, Price Found and RPM Price Schedule, are now visible on Archived Sales Orders, Archived Sales Quotes, and Posted Sales Documents.

With this update, you can review critical RPM details even after documents are archived or posted, making it easier to validate pricing, audit historical transactions, and ensure consistency across the sales process.

Include Company Name as Document Attribute in Diagnostics

A new setting has been added in RPM Settings within the BC Connector that allows you to include the Company Name as a Document Attribute in RPM Diagnostics. When this option is enabled, the Company Name will automatically appear in the Diagnostic details, making it easier to identify which company generated the pricing call and improving traceability during troubleshooting.

RPM BC – June 2025 New Features and Enhancements

Field Name Update: RPM Price Schedule

To reduce confusion with the native Business Central field Customer Price Group, the RPM Customer Price Group field has been renamed to RPM Price Schedule. This new name is now reflected across key transaction screens, including Sales Quotes, Sales Orders, Sales Invoices, Project Planning Lines, and Project Journals.

RPM BC – May 2025 New Features and Enhancements

RPM Trace Log

A new Tracing feature has been added to RPM in Business Central to support easier troubleshooting and debugging. When enabled, tracing captures detailed logs of system activity, which can be viewed on the new RPM Trace Log page.

This feature is primarily intended for support use and can help diagnose issues more efficiently. Logs can be deleted as needed, and tracing should only be enabled temporarily during investigation.
